Our hand warmers are designed with the deer hunter in mind. We know you will likely be in very cold weather and sitting still for several hours. In this case we recommend keeping the heated battery inside your pocket or hand muff to trap the heat. This environment should achieve more than 12 hours on one charge to outlast your sit.

It may vary depending on each hunter's needs at the time. Chemical packs (the little throw-away pouches) are smaller and can be crammed into different areas, but these are once-and-done and are roughly $1 each. Rechargeable battery hand warmers come ahead in terms of dollars after only 30 uses. You should achieve 100's of uses before the internal lithium cells start to lose life. They also double as a power bank to charge your phone. This comes in handy when you're away from home.
Chemical packs also take about 15-30 minutes to activate, but should go several hours if they aren't nearing expiration. Electric handwarmers will heat up within a couple minutes. It is also nice to be able to turn the heat off if not needed and then use again later rather than once and done.
